Christian Biography of Betty L. Wehrman
Betty Lou Wehrman, the daughter of Ray and Sylvia (Payne) Williams, was born on February 22, 1928 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on August 18, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Betty was one of four children, she grew up attending school in Superior and graduated from Superior High School. She was united in marriage to Homer B. Wehrman, Jr., on October 16, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska. To this union three children were born. Together they raised their family on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska.
Betty was a member of the Nelson Community Church of Christ and was baptized on October 6, 2002 by Pastor Ralph Sturdy. She also was a member of the Busy Bee Club, and the Nelson Chapter #27 Order of the Eastern Star. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and just being with her family.
She entered the Good Samaritan Society in August of 2006 where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lyle and Jack Williams and one sister, Elenor Craig.
She is survived by her husband Homer B. "Fritz" Wehrman of Nelson, son, David Wehrman and wife Carol of Plymouth, Minnesota; daughter, Margaret Camby and husband Bill of Juniata, Nebraska and son, Joseph Wehrman and wife Pam of Nelson, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey and Bradley Wehrman, William Camby Jr., and Heather Camby- Osten, and Michael, Douglas and Juliann Wehrman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:30 AM from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Music was "How Great Thou Art," and "In The Garden," with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and Robert Bruce as organist. Pallbearers were Jeff Wehrman, Brad Wehrman, Mike Wehrman, Doug Wehrman, William Camby, Jr., and Ryan Osten. Honorary Pallbearers were Heather Camby-Osten and Juliann Wehrman. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials suggested to the Nelson Community United Church of Christ.
