Christian Biography of Aileen A. Grummert

Aileen A Grummert, the daughter of William and Lola Ferguson, was born on August 24, 1934 in Oak, Nebraska. She passed away on April 4, 2019 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 7 months, 11 days.

Aileen grew up in Oak, graduating from Nelson High School. She married Milvern Grummert on July 16, 1952. In this union, they raised two children, Michael and Julie.

Aileen was a devoted wife and mother. She was a volunteer for her community of Glenvil, helping to raise funds to upgrade the community playground as well as helping with the annual community parades and celebrations. She worked on the election boards and was active with the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Milvern "Mike" on January 16, 2017; grandson Jonathan Grummert and great grandson Hayden Reiman.

She is survived by her son Michael Grummert and wife Sheila of McPherson, Kansas and daughter Julie Grummert-Schiefelbein and husband Steve of West Linn, Oregon; 6 grandchildren, Sara Macy and husband Chris, Nicholas Grummert and wife Lois, Alicia Hanson, Michael Grummert, Stacey Schiefelbein, and Sheryl Schiefelbein; 7 great grandchildren, Bryant Depeel, Colin Reiman, Malachi and Marley Grummert, Evan Grummert, Rece Reiman and Ryleigh Conger; sisters-in-law, Elsie Grummert of Superior, Nebraska, and Norma Nunnenkamp of Hillsboro, Oregon; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, Nebraska with Pastor Rob Garton officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," "Old Rugged Cross," "How Great Thou Art," "Jesus Loves Me," and "Lord's Prayer," with Sue Fredricks as the organist and Pastor Rob Garton as the vocalist.

Visitation was held on April 12, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers were Sara Macy, Nicholas Grummert, Alicia Hanson, Michael Grummert, Stacey Schiefelbein and Terry Grummert. Honorary Pallbearers were Roxanne Peters, Dan Grummert and Steve Schiefelbein.

Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Oak, Nebraska.
