Christian Biography of Alvin L. Schott
Alvin L. Schott, the son of Franklin "LeRoy" and Reta (Williams) Schott, was born on March 11, 1939 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on July 11, 2022 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years 4 months and 0 days.
Alvin attended school in Nelson, graduating from Nelson High School with the class of 1957. He married Judy Allene Langer on September 6, 1959 at the United Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three children, Sandra, Susan and Sheri.
Alvin loved to fix up cars and was a mechanic on race cars with Larry Thornberry and Jim Lynch. He also loved to take his girls water skiing at the lake. He worked for his Dad (LeRoy) and Grandpa (Franklin) Schott. Alvin and his Dad (LeRoy) built Schott Oil Company in 1962. Alvin bought out his Dad (LeRoy) after his Dad retired in 1980. Over the next 26 years with his brother Royce and several family members, Alvin ran the station until he sold it to Mike Stichka in 2006. Then Alvin mowed for the City of Nelson from 2007 - 2016. Alvin was a member of the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department/Rescue Squad, from 1967-1993 and also the Pleasure Cruisers for many years, where he showed off his talents, the 1968 Chevy Purple Pickup.
He is preceded in death by his parents Franklin "LeRoy" and Reta Schott and his brother Richard "Dick" Schott.
Survivors include his wife Judy; three daughters Sandra (Ronald) Schendt of Nelson, NE, Susan (Cameron) Trombley of Raleigh, NC and Sheri (Robert "Art") Watts of Colorado Springs, CO, five grandchildren Lance Schendt, Deidre Nielsen, Camron Watts, Travis Watts and Alyssa Watts and one great grandson Carter Nielsen; siblings Barb Fitchett of Lincoln and Royce (Brenda) Schott of Nelson NE; sister-in-law Anita Schott of Lincoln, NE, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Memorial Services held at: Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska
