Christian Biography of Andrew Hajny

Andrew Frank Hajny "Andy", the son of Melvin and Jacque Byerly Hajny, was born on August 11, 1986 in Smith Center, Kansas. He departed life at his home in Spokane, Washington on February 11, 2025.

Andy grew up in rural Nelson where he enjoyed every aspect of hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Andy graduated from Lawrence-Nelson High School in May of 2004. After High School he went on to Central Community College-Hastings where he studied HVAC. After a year of college, he decided to enlist in the United States Navy on September 20, 2007 serving five years as an aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged on September 19, 2012.

After his service in the Navy, Andy went back to college in Tennessee where he studied Game and Parks Biology. He later settled in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he made his career as a Broilmaker, which led him all over the United States.

Andy was preceded in death by his father Melvin Hajny, sister Melissa Hajny, brother Corey Hajny; grandmother Lorna Hajny, and grandparents Floyd (Edith) Shipman.

Left to cherish Andy's memory is his mother, Jacque (Shipman) Byerly of Grand Bend, Kansas, his father's significant other Helen Chancellor of McCook, Nebraska, brother Jarrod (Lacey) Hajny of Nelson, Nebraska, sister Ashley Hajny of Beloit, Kansas, grandfather Nolan Hajny of Smith Center, Kansas; nieces, nephews Wyatt, Josie and Monte Hajny and Jayden and Jaxon Hajny; other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside memorial services were held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 4:00 pm from the Guide Rock Cemetery in Guide Rock, Nebraska with Royce Schott officiating.

Recorded music was "Give Heaven Some Hell," "Where I Find God" and "Lead Me Home."

Honorary Pallbearers were Travis Schendt, Brett Powell and Tony Peters.

Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery at Guide Rock, Nebraska.
