Christian Biography of Arden D. Christiansen

Arden Donovan Christiansen, the son of Ray and Annette (Andersen) Christiansen, was born
on February 12, 1932 on a farm near Hardy, Nebraska. He passed away on June 13, 2013 at
Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 4 months, 1 day.

Arden attended Weimer rural school just down the road from his childhood home. He farmed on the family farm with his father and later was employed at Mid-America Dairymen in Superior, Nebraska and the Green Thumb program in Hastings, NE.

His main enjoyment in life was traveling to various states with his parents and driving through the countryside. Later his transportation became his bicycle which he road long distances each day around the community to observe the various seasons of agriculture and follow any community developments that were taking place. He daily found joy in monitoring the weather, enjoying the beautiful sunsets as well as the stars and constellations. His family was important to him and he always enjoyed their visits.

He was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska being baptized on March 25, 1932 by Pastor C. Nielsen and confirmed there on June 1, 1947 by Pastor J. H. Petersen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Benny Christensen, and nephew Jim Gay.

He is survived by his sister Charlotte Christensen of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces and nephews
Doyle Christensen and wife Teresa of Superior, Nebraska; Dorcas Judy and husband Larry of
Ruskin, Nebraska; Rogene Gay of Hastings, Nebraska; Randy Christensen and wife Diane of
Ogallala, Nebraska and Rhonda Healey and husband Bob of Kearney, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska with Pastor Evelyn Phillips officiating

Music was congregational hymns "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Beyond The Sunset," "Our Father Has Light In His Window," and "Jesus Loves Me," with DeAnn Petersen as organist.

Visitation was held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Pallbearers were Doyle Christensen, Randy Christensen, Larry Judy, Bob Healey, Jed Renz, and Brian Judy.

Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Bethany Lutheran Church.
