Christian Biography of Arlene Kay Ahrens
Arlene Kay Ahrens, the daughter of Arnold and Norma (Harris) Streit, was born on November 8, 1940 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. She passed away on March 28, 2025 at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 4 months, 20 days.
Many will remember Arlene for her dedication and beautiful upholstery skills. She graduated from Guide Rock High School in 1958. Life was not only about her work. She married the love of her life, Robert Ahrens on November 15, 1958. Gardening was something she looked forward to every spring and summer. She was a member of the Pleasure Cruisers Car Club. After retirement, she filled her extra time by volunteering at the Nifty Thrifty. Family members depended on Arlene to share genealogy information that she spent many hours researching.
Many creative memories were made and cherished by her children: Yvonne Bailey of North Platte, Ronald Ahrens, Richard (Sharlot) Ahrens of Olathe, Kansas and Betty (Kent) Bouray of Republic, Kansas.
Arlene enjoyed her grandchildren: Kyla Bailey, Drew Bailey, Skyeler Ahrens, Alyson Ahrens, Jade Ahrens, Cassandra (Evan) Advakat, Aaron (Celsie) Ahrens, Klay (Kellin) Bouray, and Dillon Bouray and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers: Charles Streit, and Duane (Diane) Streit, sisters-in-law: Dorothy Boyle, Carolyn (Roger) Petersen, and Helen Platt; along with nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ahrens, her parents Arnold and Norma Streit, in-laws Rudolph and Alma Ahrens, son Ronald Ahrens, son-in-law Thomas Bailey, sisters: Dorothy June Streit and Barbara Kimminau, her brother Rudy Streit, brothers-in-law: Everett Boyles, Ralph Platt, Richard Kimminau, Duane Ahrens, and niece Diane Boyle.
