Christian Biography of Arnold D. Ross

Arnold Deane Ross, the son of Edwin and Avis (Leece) Ross, was born on April 4, 1933 in Concordia, Kansas. He passed away on November 30, 2025 at his residence in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 7 months, 26 days.

Arnold grew up on their farm west of Lovewell, Kansas, later moving with the family to a farm between Webber and Hardy, Nebraska.  Arnold graduated from Superior High School in May of 1951.  He then served in the U.S. Army for two years, spending time in Korea and was discharged in April of 1955 with the rank of corporal. He married Phyllis Biltoft on August 21,1955 at the Nora Methodist Church. They eventually raised four sons on their farm near Webber.

Arnold was an involved community leader in the Superior United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge, Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Water Board, Red Caps, and VFW. He enjoyed watching sports on tv and was a Kansas State football season ticket holder for many years.

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, parents Edwin and Avis, and his brother Harlan Ross.  Survivors include his brother Wayne (Nancy) Ross of Mosca, Colorado, sons Mark (Janet) of Federal Way, Washington, Kent (Susan) of Superior, Nebraska, Jay (Kathy) of Superior, Nebraska, and Eric (Lisa) of Manhattan, Kansas.  Nine grandchildren: Amy (Reeve) Hourigan, Kevin (Kelly Noe) Reeve, Samantha (Richard) Ross, Evan (Taylor) Ross, Brett Ross, Ethan Ross, Colin Ross, Madison (Isaac) Ross, and Hannah Ross; six great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren with one on the way; nephews, nieces as well as other relatives, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Bonnie Brock officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 with family present from 6-8.

Interment with Military Honors will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the First United Methodist Church.
