Christian Biography of Barbara Kimminau
Barbara J. Kimminau, the daughter of Arnold and Norma (Harris) Streit, was born on June 13, 1937 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. She passed away on May 14, 2015 at the Heritage Care Center, in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 11 months, 1 day.
Barbara attended school in Guide Rock graduating from Guide Rock High School, and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, rural Lawrence, Nebraska.
She was inducted into the United States Air Force, serving as Airman First Class and was honorably discharged on January 20, 1959. She was united in marriage to Richard Kimminau on May 10, 1967 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska.
Barbara enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her father Arnold Streit and brother Rudy Streit.
Survivors include her husband Richard of Guide Rock, Nebraska; her mother Norma of Heritage Care Center of Red Cloud, Nebraska; one sister Arlene Ahrens and husband Robert of Superior, Nebraska; and two brothers Duane Streit and wife Diane of Guide Rock, Nebraska and Charles Streit of North Platte, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:30 am from the St. Stephen's Catholic Church, rural Lawrence, Nebraska with Rev. Thomas Bush officiating. Arnold Kimminau was the Lector; Jerry Miller served as the Acolyte.
Rosary Service was held on Sunday, May 17th at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
Music was congregational hymns "The King Of Love My Shepherd Is," "Be Not Afraid," "On Eagle's Wings," and "How Great Thou Art," with Susan Janda as the organist and Sherri Buescher as the song leader.
Pallbearers were Matt Streit, Lynn Kimminau, Ryan Streit, Ron Ahrens, Gary Kimminau, Mike Webber and Denny Smith.
Interment was in the St. Stephen's Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to the American Legion in Guide Rock, Nebraska.
