Christian Biography of Betty J Alexander

Betty J Alexander, one of four children of Charles and Anna (Warner) Haag, was born on July 4, 1923 on a farm near Lebanon, Nebraska. She passed away on October 9, 2015 at the Mother Hull Home at Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 3 months, 5 days.

Betty was a graduate of Lebanon High School. She was united in marriage to Leslie Alexander on June 29, 1947 at Hastings, Nebraska. To this union five children were born. They made their home in Superior, where her husband was in the Automobile Business with his brothers. He preceded her in death. She married Arnold Ehlers on December 29, 1985.


Betty loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved gardening, watching birds and travelling.


She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna; husband Leslie on May 14, 1977; second husband Arnold on July 26, 2000; brothers Charles and Donald Haag and one sister Carolyn Haag.

Betty is survived by her children Ronald Alexander of Omaha, Nebraska; Teresa Alexander and husband Eric Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska; Randall Alexander and wife Debra of Kearney, Nebraska; Carla Alexander of Kearney, Nebraska and Tammy Alexander and husband Allan Hagemann of Wakefield, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren: Matthew Alexander and wife Laurie, Nicholas Alexander and wife Amber, Cody Alexander and wife Shawna, Molly Alexander, Jessica Pratt and husband Tyler and Rachel Schmit; 8 great grandchildren: Macee, Callee and Lillee Alexander, Lane, Adrianna and Parker Alexander, Emersyn and Everlea Pratt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot," solos by Calle Alexander, Oboe solo by Rachel Schmit and recording of "In The Garden," with Carlita Price as the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Matthew Alexander, Nichols Alexander, Cody Alexander, Allan Hagemann, Edward "Lee" Alexander, Gayle Haag and Charles Dean Haag.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
