Christian Biography of Bill L. Erickson
Billy Lee Erickson, the son of LeVern and Grace (Turner) Erickson, was born on April 28, 1942 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on January 26, 2018 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 8 months, 29 days.
Bill attended Cadams country school and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1959. He enlisted with the National Guards in 1964 serving 6 years, before his honorable discharge in 1970. Bill was united in marriage to Joyce Meester on October 10, 1965 in Fairfield, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 2 daughters.
Bill farmed and ranched all his life, until his retirement when he moved into town. While on the farm he enjoyed his horses, roping, cattle drives and his black velvet and water. He also earned his pilot's license. After retiring, Bill's routine included daily lunch at Dave's Place and driving around the town and country side. He also, enjoyed attending the Cattleman Classic whenever possible. He loved his grandchildren and family, and spending time with them.
He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, Danish Brotherhood, NRA, American Quarter Horse Association, Pheasants Forever and the Cattleman Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeVern and Grace; wife Joyce on December 25, 2001; and his brother Robert.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Trauba and husband, Jay of Grapevine, Texas and Teresa Erickson of Superior, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Courtney Trauba, Danielle Trauba and Abbie Fish and Megan Fish; and his brother David Erickson and wife Beth of Grandville, Ohio; other relatives and a host of friends.
