Christian Biography of William "Bill" Hill

William "Bill" Hill of Superior, Nebraska peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Omaha with family by his side.  Bill owned and operated the Superior Style Shop for over 11 years, managed the Plains Motel while farming on his land near Superior.  Bill had an undeniable warmth, friendliness and laugh that left a lasting impression.  Bill loved meeting people and hearing their stories, which he continued until his death. He told everyone he met that he was from Superior and what a wonderful community it was. His true passion and love was being a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bill and his wife, Lorna, were married for over 64 years and were blessed with five daughters. They enjoyed family vacations to Colorado, Minnesota, and California while he and Lorna loved spending winters in Scottsdale, AZ. He was an avid sports fan supporting the Superior Wildcats, Nebraska Football and joining his sister Marguerite cheering on the Green Bay Packers. As Lorna's health declined, he was a dedicated caregiver and beloved partner.

Bill was born and raised in Superior and graduated from Superior High School in 1944.  During his senior year, he joined the U.S. Navy. The Navy sent him to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to receive an education. He graduated from Miami University, at which time he was discharged from the Navy with Bill regretting not getting the opportunity to serve abroad for his country. At the encouragement of his father, Bill went on to receive his Master's Degree in Retailing from New York University in New York City. He returned to Superior to start working, and was fortunate to meet the love of his life Lorna, where they soon begun their life together.

Bill was incredibly proud to be from and live the majority of his life in Superior. He showed this pride by being an active leader in many civic causes and a long-time member of Centennial Lutheran Church. He was particularly proud of his work with the Brodstone Memorial Hospital Foundation, First Federal Savings & Loan, Superior Public-School Board and his church, to only name a few.

Bill was proceeded in death by his wife, Lorna, his daughter Carla, his parents, Ben and Hazel Hill of Superior, his sister, Marguerite, and his son-in-law, Tim Daugherty. Bill is survived by his daughters: Susan Penner (Rod) of South Bend, NE, Linda Daugherty of Omaha, Pam Frerichs (Mark) of Papillion, NE, and Julie Allison (Wayne) of Oklahoma City; sister Betty Ann Sprinkle of Omaha; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousin and countless friends.

Graveside Services with Military Honors held at: Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska
