Christian Biography of Billie Thompson

Billie Daryle Thompson, the son of Val and Carrie (Wells) Thompson, was born on June 12, 1930 in Jewell County, Kansas. He passed away on May 19, 2016 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 11 months, 7 days.

Billie attended grade schools in Kansas, Texas and Nebraska, graduating from Superior High School.

Billie was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Killough on July 22, 1951 in Red Cloud, Nebraska and to this union 5 children were born. Shortly after his marriage he was inducted into the United Sates Army on September 6, 1951 serving during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on September 4, 1953.

During Billie's lifetime he was engaged in farming, worked for the City Utilities and also Ideal Cement Plant. He also worked for Dr. Hatch attending his horses. Billie enjoyed raising goats, quarter horses, which he raced on the track. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Robert Thompson.

Survivors include his wife Wanda of Superior and children Terry Scott and husband Dan of Superior, Nebraska; Steven Thompson and wife Roxane of Oak, Nebraska, Shari Bergt and husband Bob of Deshler, Nebraska, Pam Brundage of Jonesburg, Missouri, and Sandra Oswald and husband Eric of Sylvan Grove, Kansas; 11 grandchildren: Corey Scott, Troy Scott, Amber Brown, Ashley Siebenneicher, Leon Love, Melissa Bridwell, Jeffery Korb, Matthew Korb, Christopher Korb, Austin Oswald, and Cody Oswald; 21 great grandchildren: Owen Brown, Ella Brown, Rhett Brown, Paisley Brown, Braylin Siebenneicher, Chastin Korb, Silas Cole, Treyton Korb, Annabale Deloris May Korb, Riley Simms, Samuel Scott, Addison Scott, Case Scott, Cash Scott, Aubree Scott, Marshall Baumbach, Dominique Baumbach, Roscoe Baumbach, James Love, Ryan Love and Haley Love; 8 step great grandchildren; and his sister Bettie Kay Isaacson and husband Bob of Wichita, Kansas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:30 AM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," and "In The Garden," with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and Carlia Price as organist.


Pallbearers were Billie's Grandchildren and Honorary Pallbearers were his Great Grandchildren

Inurnment with full military honors was held in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
