Christian Biography of Bonnie Jean Pedersen

Bonnie Jean Pedersen, the daughter of Walter and Lillian (Hickstein) Warneking, was born on June 10, 1936 in Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on May 28, 2018 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 11 months, 18 days.

She grew up on farms near Bostwick and Nelson, Nebraska, and spent some time in the Scottsbluff area. She graduated from Superior High School in 1953 and met Lars Pedersen while she was working as a waitress at the Victory Cafe in Superior. They were married January 3, 1956 and lived in Littleton, Colorado. They moved back to Nebraska in 1961 and have lived on farms in Nuckolls County until the present.

Bonnie was active in her church, gardened and canned fruits and vegetables. She was also very active in the community, working with elections, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Nuckolls County Museum. She had the gift of hospitality and made guests feel comfortable, welcomed and well fed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by husband Lars, son Dan and daughter-in-law Nancy, daughter Carlie, son Dave, two sisters Shirley Milton and Pat Etherton; grandchildren, Andy, Shane, Amber, Matthew, Chris, Jack, and her card party group, her church family, and many other friends and relatives.
