Christian Biography of Caroline Rempe

Caroline Catherine Rempe, loving wife and mother, was taken into the arms of God on June 30, 2018. She was 98. Caroline was born to Josephine and Harvey LaPorte in Campbell, NE, on January 27, 1920, the fifth of their seven children.

Caroline lived in Hastings, Nebraska, and, after her first husband passed away, continued to live there and raise her three daughters. She and Richard (Dick) Rempe married in June 1966 and they moved to Superior, Nebraska where Caroline enjoyed many new friends and worked with Dick at the Jack and Jill grocery store. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society in Superior, and a very devoted member of the parish.

Caroline will be greatly missed and will be in the hearts of many. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard, her daughters, Cheryl Kealey and son-in-law Michael of Sunnyvale, California, Cindy Essay of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Candy Stark Vallejo and son-in-law Chris of Omaha, Nebraska. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She was always a source of strength and comfort to her family and friends. She showed great courage through the difficult times in her life, and the way in which she accepted and dealt with her later health issues.

We wish to thank the many people who lovingly cared for Caroline in these last years. We thank Dr. Blecha, Ros Aden, Steve Diehl and all the kind people of Superior who were always there to give a helping hand.
