Christian Biography of Cheryl L. Rothchild

Cheryl L. Rothchild, the daughter of Donald and Gladys (McCutcheon) Shroyer, was born on December 25, 1956 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on September 8, 2013 at Golden Living Center Park Place, Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 8 months, 14 days.

Cheryl was one of seven children. She was baptized on March 10, 1957 by Rev. Elvin Hansen at Hardy, Nebraska and confirmed on May 14, 1972 by Pastor George Feistner at Salem Lutheran Church, Superior, Nebraska. She attended Beaverville District 72 and Superior High School graduating with the class of 1975. She was a 21 year member of the Aurora Evangelical Free Church.

On June 25, 1983 she was united in marriage to Marlin Rothchild at Salem Lutheran Church, Superior and to this union a son and daughter were born.

Cheryl was employed as a Dietary-Aid/Cook and lived in the communities of Superior, Smith Center, Kansas, Deshler and Aurora. She entered the Golden Living Park Place in Grand Island, Nebraska in August of 2012, due to her health and resided there until her passing. She was a loving wife, mother and sister and was known for her great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father Donald on March 13, 2008 and her mother Gladys on April 22, 2013.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Marlin of Aurora, Nebraska; son Chad and daughter Sarah all of Aurora, Nebraska; four sisters Barbara Johansen and husband Leslie of Marquette, Nebraska; Phyllis Shroyer of Superior, Nebraska; Janet Cerny and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Diane Focken and husband James of Ansley, Nebraska; and two brothers Steven and wife Jocelyn and Dennis and wife Stacey all of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Vance Christie officiating.

Music was "In the Garden," and "Good Night and Good Morning." Vocalists were Leeta Christie and Laurie Knudsen with Fairy Hattan as the Pianist.

Visitation was held on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Joe Cerny, Leslie Johansen, James Focken, Dennis Rothchild, Doyle Rothchild, Arthur Stokes, Daryl Rothchild, and Delmer Rothchild

Interment was in the Webber Cemetery at Webber, Kansas.
