Christian Biography of Christy Marie Olson

Christy Marie Olson, the daughter of Howard and Evelyn (Reiman) Olson, was born on December 1, 1970 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on May 4, 2022 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center West at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 51 years, 5 months, 3 days. Christy was a donor and gave the ultimate gift of life to be cherished by many.

She grew up in Nelson where she attended grade school and was a high school graduate, earning an Associate Degree in Business from Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She was currently employed at CPI in Lawrence.  Christy was baptized in the Presbyterian church and was a member of the Catholic Church in Nelson. Christy had 2 children Bailey Marie and Colton Lukas.

She was a member of the Nelson Legion Auxiliary, Altar Society of the Catholic Church and helped with CCD classes.

Christy was an avid collector of pigs, and was always wanting a potbellied pig of her own. She had a love for dogs and was a Mom to 4 special ones. She was a very passionate and caring person, especially to the elderly when she was employed at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson.  Christy had a knack for writing stories and poems and will be cherished forever. Her greatest joy was spending time with her best friend and her one and only Jeff Shuck, riding around in the convertible and enjoying life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Olson.

She is survived by her mother, Evelyn "Evie" Olson of Nelson, her children Bailey Marie Monnier of Seattle, Washington and Colton Lukas Monnier of Rapid City, South Dakota; her one and only Jeff Shuck of Edgar; sisters Annette (Scott) Brown and Lynette (Mark) Follmer all of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces Kelsey (Andrew) Green, Katy Follmer, Karessa Follmer, step-son Joel (Abbi Smith) Shuck; other relatives and host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00 am from the Salem Lutheran Church, Rural Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Ethan Feistner officiating.

Music was "Rainbow Connection," "On Eagle's Wings," and "Here I Am Lord."

Visitation was held on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family present from 6-8.

Pallbearers were Rob Schlichtman, Nate Kenley, Jason Follmer, Joel Shuck, Katy Follmer and Karessa Follmer. Honorary Pallbearers were Tina Meyers, Jim Shuck, Andrew and Kelsey Green.

Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
