Christian Biography of Corrinne Good

Corrinne Good left this earthly realm on May 4, 2017 at Stanton, Nebraska, aged 98 years, 10 months and 22 days.

Born at the family farm north of Nelson to Rinehart and Emma (Frey) Oltmans on June 12, 1918, she was the third of six children. She attended Pleasant View Country School and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1936.

On June 27, 1938 she married Howard Good at Mankato, Kansas. They raised three daughters.

Corrinne thrived during her farm years in Nuckolls County. A consummate farm wife and homemaker, she prepared and served countless delicious meals and was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, doll crafter, teddy bear builder, baker and gardener. She took pride in her work, which earned prizes and honors on the local, regional and state levels. She served younger generations as a leader in both 4-H and Girls Scouts. Corrinne enjoyed her membership in and working with NHS Band Mothers, Eastern Star, First Christian Church, Elk Creek Country Club, and the Pleasant View Extension Club.

In their later years, Corrinne and Howard enjoyed winters in Arizona, traveling to many sites in the United States, playing golf and spending time with family members and friends. Corrinne designed and created costumes for her daughter Kathleen's theatrical productions. She enjoyed sports and especially loved watching the Huskers. Corrinne was a champion lawn bowler.

She is survived by daughters: Barbara (Howard) Hansen, Sandra (Neal) Anderson and Kathleen (Chuck) Hubka; four grandchildren: Tracy, Trevor, Shari and Shannon; 14 great grandchildren: Christopher, Anthony, Emma, Trenton, Tyler, Trey, Eric, Teran, Torri, Talia, Tanna, Tegan, Tayte and Tenly ; 6 great-great grandchildren: Atley, Adler, Finley, Collins, Piper and Savannah; two sisters: Doris Andersen of Wallace, Nebraska and Lila Oltmans of North Platte, sister-in-law Mildred Eusted of Creswell, Oregon; nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rine and Emma Oltmans, husband Howard Good in 1996, brothers and sisters-in-law Glenn and Della Oltmans, Marvin and Elaine Oltmans, Esther and Paul Komp, Henry Andersen, Bill and Ruth Scheeflock, Pat and Dorothy Haszard, Dean Eusted, A.L. "Jiggs" Good, Kenneth Good, Donald Good, Dale Robert Good, nephews Dudley Oltmans, Tim Lanham, and Al Lanham, and grandson Mitchell Ellis Hansen.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Pastor Ivan and Joyce Dean officiating.

Music was "In My Daughters Eyes," and "Have I Told You Lately" solos by Stephanie Thayer and congregational hymn "In The Garden," and piano solo "I Love To Tell the Story," by Mary Statz

Pallbearers were Christopher Pavlik, Anthony Pavlik, Trenton Montgomery, Tyler Montgomery, Trey Montgomery, Eric Salmonson, and Teran Walford.

Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Nelson Community United Church of Christ; the Nelson Public Library or the Nelson Rescue Squad.
