Christian Biography of Cynthia Shaughnessy

Cynthia Ann Shaughnessy, the daughter of George and Edith (Bachand) Chaput, was born on May 7, 1954 in Concordia, Kansas. She passed away on April 13, 2019 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 64 years, 11 months, 6 days.

Cynthia Graduated from Concordia High School and then went on to attend the University of Texas at El Paso graduating with a master's degree in business administration. She later received her Chefs Certification from Hastings Community College. She was united in marriage to Joe Shaughnessy on October 19, 2001 in Anthony, New Mexico then moving to Superior, Nebraska.

Cynthia was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles, most currently was the head chef at the Vestey Center in Superior. She enjoyed painting, sewing, papercrafts, cooking and puzzles.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father George and her husband Joe.

She is survived by her mother Edith Chaput of Manhattan, Kansas, daughter Hollace Genereux and husband James Daily of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters, Jeri Taylor and husband John of Prosper, Texas and Renee LeBlanc and husband Kevin of Manhattan, Kansas along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:30 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with John Taylor officiating.

Music was "I Can Only Imagine", "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Ruby Tuesday".

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers were Garrett Herman, Aaron Herman, Erica Quave, Ann Hett, James Daily, Kevin LeBlanc, Jared Herman, Adam LeBlanc and John Taylor.

Interment was on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the St. Concordia Cemetery at Concordia, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Vestey Center Meals Program.
