Christian Biography of Daniel "Danny" Jacobitz
Daniel "Danny" Jacobitz, the son of Ivan and Iva Lee Jacobitz, was born on December 13, 1960 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on December 31, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 53 years and 18 days.
Danny attended Highland country school and Nelson High School graduating with the class of 1978. He was united in marriage to Michele Myers on June 18, 1988 at the Methodist Church in Red Cloud, and to this union 2 daughters were born.
Dan enjoyed helping with the 4H programs at the Nuckolls County Fair and also the Horse Show. He assisted coaching his girls in Basketball and enjoyed time spent with them fishing, roping and golfing. He enjoyed his time he spent at coffee at the C-Store discussing farm related things and shooting the bull He loved his nieces and nephews, riding horses and checking cows and following all of his daughter's activities and spending time with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Ivan, nephew Daniel Hartshorn and brother-in-law Charlie Titus.
He is survived by his wife, Micki of Nelson, Nebraska; daughters, Markee Jacobitz and Jaycee Jacobitz of Nelson, Nebraska; his mother Ivalee Jacobitz of Nelson, Nebraska; mother and father-in-law, Pete and Annie Myers of Red Cloud, Nebraska; sisters, Linda Hartshorn of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jeanette Wolfe and husband Bruce of Fairfield, Nebraska, Rose Titus and husband Pete of Las Vegas, Nevada, Teresa Neal and husband John of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers, Vic Jacobitz of Nelson, Nebraska, Bruce Jacobitz and wife Becky of Nelson, Nebraska and Terre Jacobitz of Nelson, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Nuckolls County Fairgrounds 4H Building - Nelson, Nebraska in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating.
Music was "Hallelujah" with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and "The Cowboy Rides Away" with Royce Schott as soloist. A recording of "Strong" was played.
Visitation was held on Thursday from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home and Friday from 9:00 am-2:00 pm at the fairgrounds.
Pallbearers were Randy Porter, Leon Fanning, Phil Wehrman, Gary Ostdiek, Lorrell Peterson, Doug Porter, Ron Janda, Francis Schroer, Kurt Hoelting, Clark Grueber, Ron Bohlen and Lyle Meyer. Honorary pallbearers were Duane Brockman, Ron Meyer, Wayne Gumaer, Floyd Tucker, Jimmy Bolte and Dennis Hurt along with the Class of 1978.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial go to the Nuckolls County 4H Program or the Nelson Volunteer Rural Fire Department
