Christian Biography of David Brazil

David Leon Brazil, the son of Larry Herbert Brazil and Frances "Feetzie" Kay (Bargen) Brazil was born September 26, 1966 at Superior, Nebraska.  David passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 2 days.

David was baptized January 15, 1967 at Centennial Lutheran Church by Pastor Leege and confirmed on May 4, 1980 at Centennial Lutheran Church by Pastor Theiss.  David was a 1984 graduate of Superior High School and went on to attend Kearney State College.  He served in the United States Army National Guard from May of 1987 to March of 1990.

Throughout his life, David lived in Superior, Fairbury and Kearney.  As a young boy many hours were spent with the neighborhood kids – the Waddles, the Bakers, the Turners – playing tennis, swimming at the pool, playing catch, and once it got dark, playing kick the can. In high school, he participated in football, basketball, and track.  He loved to play golf in his spare time and was devoted Husker football fan.

He attended Kearney State College and played the center position on the Loper football team.  His major was pre-pharmacy.  He joined the National Guard while he was in college.  His basic training was at Ft Knox KY where he was a member of the 50 Mile Club and awarded the Outstanding Soldier Award. Some of the jobs David worked included: delivering the newspaper, mowing yards and mowing at the golf course.  He was also employed by Scott TV and Appliance and the City of Superior.  During college he worked as a press operator and bartender.

David was injured in a car accident in August 1989.  He was cared for by many people at the hospital, nursing home, and last at the family home.  We would like to thank his many care givers and helpers that he has had over the years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Frances Brazil.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Gregg Brazil and his wife Deb of Superior, Nebraska; Lynn Meyer and her husband Brent of Denton, Nebraska and Lisa Sorensen and her husband Steve of Ruskin, Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Matt and Kaitlin Brazil, Andrew Brazil and Raidyn, Nate Meyer, Trent and Amy Sorensen and Loghan, Tiffany and Kyle Mundorf and Morgan, Hayden, Blake and Khloe, Rachel and Mark Warren and Beau, Danielle and Spencer Fecht, Kendra and Andy Else and Raegan, Taylor and Drew as well as other relatives and special friends.
