Christian Biography of David LeRoy Chapman

David LeRoy Chapman, the son of Ward and Georgianna (McDaniel) Chapman, was born on May 6, 1962 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on August 4, 2013 at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 51 years, 2 months, 29 days.

He graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1981. After high school he attended South East Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating in 1987. He was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. David was a retired machinist.

He lived in Hastings at the time of his passing. He loved tropical fish, birds and had a kind and giving nature.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ward on March 26, 2012.

He is survived by his mother Georgianna of Nelson, Nebraska; and sister Kim Parnell and husband Rod of Panama, Nebraska; nieces and nephews: Jake and Ellen Parnell, Zach and Ashley Parnell and Samantha Parnell all of Lincoln, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace", "He" and "Lord You Have Come to the Seashore," with Heather Pedersen as soloist/violinist and Carlita Price as the pianist.

Visitation was held on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nelson Community United Church of Christ.

Pallbearers were Eugene Logan, Bob Wills, Zach Parnell, Jake Parnell, Brendt Lynch and Brandon Lynch. Honorary Pallbearers were Jim Chapman, Val Bohaty, Fred Jester, Samantha Parnell, Mark Bohaty and Gary Bohaty.

Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
