Christian Biography of David Lee Wroughton

David Lee Wroughton, the son of Richard and Lorraine (Kelley) Wroughton, was born on August 27, 1959 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on December 17, 2019 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 3 months, 20 days.

David was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Nelson, Nebraska. He attended and graduated from Nelson High School. He went on to further his education receiving a Bachelors Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas at San Antonio. From January 27, 1982 until December 16, 1991 David was enlisted in the United States Army. Up until his death he was employed at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in the Physical Therapy department.

David was a member of the Nelson American Legion, and the Nelson and Superior Golf Courses. Many things that he enjoyed doing during his lifetime was researching his ancestry, photography, loved watching the Huskers, especially the girls' volleyball and above all, he loved his family, especially his son David.

David was preceded in death by his father, Richard, one brother, Steven and a sister Janet Rowland.

He is survived by his son David Lee Wroughton of St. Peters, Missouri, his mother Lorraine Wroughton of Superior, Nebraska, brother-in-law Marty Rowland and wife Sandy of Milford, Nebraska and a sister-in-law Becky Wroughton of Lincoln, Nebraska along with a niece, many nephews, great niece and nephews and a host of coworkers and friends.

Memorial services with military honors were held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Joyce Dean officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace – My Chains Are Gone" with Tom Jensen as soloist and a classical piece played by pianist, Carlita Price.

A book signing was held on December 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm.

Honorary pallbearers were all of his Brodstone Family.

Inurnment was in the Smith Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Brodstone Memorial Hospitals new infusion center.
