Obituary

The Staff at Price Funeral Homes are following the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) recommendation which allows funerals, party's must maintain a minimum of 6' apart and consist of a household unit or individual. This would include arrangements conferences, funeral services, gravesides and all visitations. We fully understand the importance for public gatherings to honor the lives of those we care about, the CDC believes common sense and limiting numbers at public gatherings is one of the most significant resources that may slow the spread and impact of this pandemic.

Christian Biography of Delores "Dee" Bixby

Delores Elaine Bixby, the daughter of H. Lloyd and Loraine (Stoley) Whitney, was born on July 17, 1929 in David City, Nebraska. She passed away on December 3, 2020 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 4 months, 16 days.

Dee was a Superior High School graduate. She was a member of Centennial Lutheran Church.

She was united in marriage to G. Kent Bixby on September 18, 1949 at Superior. This union was blessed with 5 children. For many years Dee worked side by side with Kent at his printing company. In 1994 Dee and Kent moved from Albuquerque back to Superior. Dee was an excellent homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was very active in her church, always baking for church activities, she was the editor of the Christ Lutheran Paper, was always volunteering at the hospital, the election polls, the library and many others. She was very community oriented.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kent in August of 2018; son Kirk Bixby; 2 daughters Lori and Lisa Bixby; brother Harold "Shrimp" (Dixie) Whitney; and her sister Marcella (Leon) Simonsen.

Survivors include her sons Dr. Greg (Debbie) Bixby of Salida, Colorado; and Joel (Diane) Bixby of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren: Erika (Tyler) Jones, Jennifer

(Jason) Blythe, Sarah Hess and Nichole Bixby; and six great grandchildren: Abigal and Colby Jones, Kale Hess, Jillian Glenn, Easton and Owen Blythe; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 10:00 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden."

Visitation was held on December 6, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers were Dr. Greg Bixby, Joel Bixby, Phil Simonsen and Jon Simonsen.

Interment was in the Hardy Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Centennial Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
