Christian Biography of Dennis Melvin

Dennis Dee Melvin, the son of Garth and Alice Irene (Blevins) Melvin, was born on October 2, 1946 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on October 17, 2024 at his home in Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, and 15 days.

Dennis attended school at Nelson. He was married to Marilyn and they later divorced. He served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1968 and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He was employed as a mechanic in his fathers' shop, Melvin's Garage in Nelson and retired from Reinke Manufacturing in Deshler.

He lived in the communities of Edgar, Angus, Nelson and Aurora throughout his lifetime. He was also a scout master for troop 165 in Nelson. He was part of the Tai Chi class in Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Garth and Irene and his infant brother Douglas.

Survivors include his daughter Heather (Donald) Tyler of Superior and son Michael Melvin of Grand Island.
