Christian Biography of Dennis Rothchild

Dennis Delbert Rothchild, the son of Delbert and Carrie (Wyatt) Rothchild, was born on July 25, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. He passed away on June 12, 2017 at the Belleville Health Care at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 75 years, 10 months, 19 days.

Dennis graduated from Lovewell High School. He was a member of the Webber United Methodist Church. Dennis lived most his life in Jewell County Kansas near Mankato.

He was employed at Ideal Cement until the plant closed. He relocated to Dodge City, Kansas where he was employed as a meat inspector for the USDA. He was united in marriage to Roberta Akins at Dodge City, Kansas.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising horses. His family was most important to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Roberta; sister-in-law Cheryl Rothchild, brother-in-law Marvin Crane and nephew Michael Crane,

He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Crane of Superior, Nebraska; Lyman and wife Janice of Monet, Missouri; Delmar and wife Glenda of Downs, Kansas; Doyle and wife Phyllis of Mankato, Kansas; Jana Stokes and husband Art of Columbus, Nebraska; and Marlin and wife Maria of Aurora, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:30 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," and "In The Garden," with Stephanie Thayer as the soloist and Carlita Price as her accompanist.

Visitation was held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00.

Pallbearers were his nephews Bryan Rothchild, Travis Rothchild, Shannon Rothchild, Shea Rothchild, Kevin Tuxhorn, Ryan Tuxhorn, Chad Rothchild and Erik Rothchild. Honorary Pallbearers were his great and great great nephews, Alex, James, Tate, Teagan, Tage, Weston, Shelton, Noah, Trenton, Isaias, Casey, Zanthony and Kayzen.

Interment with Military Honors was in the Webber Cemetery at Webber, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Alzheimer's Association or the Belleville Health Care Center.
