Christian Biography of Diane M. Blau

Diane Marie Blau, the daughter of Otha Dale and Doris (Beanblossom) Skinner, was born on July 10, 1946 in Deshler, Nebraska. She passed away on August 1, 2018 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 72 years and 22 days.

Diane attended school and graduated from Davenport High School. She then attended and graduated from Aliene's Academy in Hastings with a cosmetology degree. She was united in marriage to Ernest Blau on September 12, 1965 at Christ's Lutheran Church in Davenport, Nebraska and to this union four children were born.

She was a daycare provider of many children for many years, beautician and dietary aid at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson Nebraska as well as dietary aide at Parkview Haven in Deshler, Nebraska.

Diane enjoyed life by spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's activities and Joseph Hall concerts with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale & Doris Skinner a daughter, Lisa Jolene Blau sister, Connie Skinner, brother, Dennis Skinner, a sister-in-law, Charla Skinner and a niece, Amanda Storehalder.
She is survived by her husband Ernest Blau of Davenport, Nebraska, children: Christine Stratman (Lynn) of Funk, Nebraska, Brent Blau (Jennifer) of Davenport, Nebraska and Angela Kathman (Mitchell) of Lawrence, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Logan, Grace and Maddie Stratman, Marcus and Megan Tofflemire, McKensi, Brooklyn and Treyton Blau and Rachel, Kaylee and Darren Kathman. She is also survived by her sister, Denise (Douglas) Snow -of Hastings, Nebraska and brother-in-law, Richard ( LeAnne) Blau of Hastings, Nebraska. Her Uncle Fred & Aunt Alice Beanblossom of Doniphan, Nebraska and her beloved dog Freddy along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 am from the Christ's Lutheran Church in Davenport, Nebraska with Pastors, Annette Minderman and Stuart Sell officiating.

Special music was "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art" with Jessica Karr as soloist. Congregational hymns were "In The Garden", What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Amazing Grace" with Linda Ostdiek as organist and accompanist.

Pallbearers were Doug Holtzen, Conrad Sell, Jerrod Sell, Courtney Lowery, Russell Hinds and Tyler Schardt. Honorary bearers were Logan Stratman, Marcus Tofflemire, Darren Kathman, Treyton Blau, Rachel Kathman, Kaylene Kathman, Megan Tofflemire, McKensi Blau, Brooklyn Blau, Grace Stratman, Maddie Stratman, Johnny Thornton, Lloyd and Marilyn Holtzen, Pat Boss and Wayne Himmelberg.

Interment was in the Davenport City Cemetery at Davenport, Nebraska.
