Christian Biography of Donnetta Clark

Donnetta was the only child born to Adolph and Minne Lee Nemec on July 29, 1946. She was raised in Chester, Nebraska where she inherited her family's legacy of restaurant work and bigger than life personality.

After graduating from High School, she went to New York to attend college but shortly returned to her home roots where she married Jerry Campbell. They had two girls, Trini and Tiffany. Together, they operated Campbell's Restaurant from 1968-1972 in Concordia, KS. It was open 24 hours every day except Christmas Day. Eventually she relocated to Superior, NE where she had various jobs doing secretarial work, selling jewelry and doing nails in her home.

Life was good on 5 Random Road. She played as hard as she worked. Summer was her favorite season, yellow was her favorite color. Donnetta worshipped the sun. So much so that she had one tattooed on her back. Her favorite place was sunbathing in her backyard pool. Countless guests attended swim parties who continue to recall memories of her making food, playing music and enjoying a drink by the pool. Donnetta's love for music and dancing made her the life of the party, always encouraging everyone to let loose and enjoy the moment.

In 1993, she returned to the restaurant business and opened DC's North 40. Inspired by her mother, she made countless friends with staff, customers and family through food and service to others. After her divorce, she went on to marry the love of her life, Jack Clark, on February 14th, 1995. An Elvis impersonator gave her away at the Little White Chapel in front of 30 friends and family.

The last 11 years of her career, she worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Good Samaritan in Superior. Just like restaurant business, it was a tough job but she loved taking care of the residents and the impact she made.

During retirement, Donnetta enjoyed going to the casino, planting flowers and spending time with family. Her and Jack enjoyed life together and were the true definition of soul mates. It didn't matter what they were doing, as long as they were with one another. She deeply cherished him as he did her. When she became ill, he was her sole caregiver who attended to all her needs. She would often say… Jack, Jack, Jack and he would come running.

Though her life was far too short, Donnetta's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She taught us to embrace life's chaos, to find joy in every moment and to love fiercely.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Minnie.

Survivors include her husband Jack, daughters Trini Henricks of Omaha and Tiffany (Steve) Baehr of Gretna; five grandchildren Tanner Henricks, Logan Astleford (Drake), Jayden Martin, Jace Butcher and Reece Henricks; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 am from the Superior United Methodist Church in Superior, Ne with Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," and "Take My Hand Precious Lord," recordings by Elvis.

Pallbearers were Reece Henricks, Jace Butcher, Steve Baehr, Trent Clark, Justin Bushnell, Chris Corman and Drake Astleford.

Interment was in the Chester City Cemetery at Chester, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the First United Methodist Church in Superior.
