Christian Biography of Dorothy Mae Kottmeyer

Dorothy Mae Kottmeyer, the daughter of William and Edna (Edson) Hughes, was born on May 23, 1943 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on June 6, 2022 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 14 days.

Dorothy attended school in Superior and graduated from Superior High School. She was an active church member of the First Baptist Church, in Superior. On December 31, 1961 she was united in marriage to Donald Kottmeyer in Superior and to this union three children were born.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, and entered the Good Samaritan Society in April of 2021 due to her health.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Edna; husband Don on August 6, 2013; sister Beverly Rogers and brothers John and Jim Hughes.

Survivors include her children Joan (Keith) Shellhase of Ord, Nebraska; Phillip (Mary) of Lincoln, Nebraska and Brenda (Kent) Rumery of Skiatook, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; Matthew (Erin) Shellhase, Andi Shellhase, Lexus (Austin) Brown, Benjamin, and MaKenzie Kottmeyer, Taylor (Caleb) Rumery, Kara and Kailey Rumery; two great grandchildren Sophie Shellhase and Gentry Brown; sisters-in-law Linda Hughes from Fairmont, Nebraska and Dianna Hughes-Epp of Hickman, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
