Christian Biography of Duane A. Fraley

Duane A. Fraley, the son of Lloyd and Alta (Wolfe) Fraley, was born on a farm east of Chester, Nebraska on December 28, 1941. He passed away on August 3, 2012 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 7 months, 6 days.

Duane attended school in Chester and graduated High School there in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961. He served as a Navy Seabee in the Asian and South Pacific upon the death of his father he returned home to take care of the family farm. He was united in marriage to Lois Kohl on November 27, 1966 in Superior, Nebraska. Two daughters were born to this union.


He was employed as a mechanic for Nuckolls County for 20 years and 10 years with Skip Fullerton also as a mechanic.


He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother and father-in-law Pete Kohl, two great grandchildren Kierra & Kieran Hathaway.

He is survived by his wife Lois of Superior, Nebraska, mother-in-law Nellie Kohl also of Superior; two daughters Dalene Fraley of Holyrood, Kansas and Valerie Petersen of Belleville, Kansas; six grandchildren Derek Hathaway, Brendan Hathaway (Liz) all of Superior; Pamela Simpson (Cory) of Red Cloud, Nebraska; Kyle Petersen of 29 Palms, California; Alex Petersen of Belleville, Kansas and Amy Hathaway of St. Francis, Kansas; four great grandchildren Isacc, Connor and Morgan Hathaway and Cale Simpson; four sisters, Aletha Greenfield of Arlington, Nebraska, Claribel Mumm of Geneva, Nebraska, Barbara Ghan of Winfield, Kansas and Elaine Charbonneau of Clyde, Kansas; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is loved by all.
