Christian Biography of Elsie Amelia (Roberts) Baumbach
Elsie Baumbach, the daughter of William and Anne (Sanders) Roberts, was born on July 16, 1924 on a farm near Randall, Kansas. She passed away on April 8, 2014 at her home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 8 months, 23 days.
Elsie attended school in Jewell, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Gerald Linton and to this union two children were born. She later married Delos Baumbach on December 3, 1950 in Jewell, Kansas and this union four children were born.
Elsie was a Past President of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She loved all her children, and grandchildren, and spending time with them and her friends. She enjoyed fishing and collecting birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delos on May 21, 1999; one brother Kenny and sisters Marjorie Yoder and Naomi Paul.
She is survived by her children, Una Hartman and husband Leroy of Hastings, Nebraska, Larry Linton, of Superior, Nebraska, Sheila Moore and husband Ron of Superior, Nebraska, Dale Baumbach of Concordia, Kansas, Donald Baumbach, and Terry Baumbach and wife Debbie all of Superior, Nebraska; step-children, George Baumbach of Montana, Shirley Lackie and husband Richard of Texas, Marcia Jones of California and Harold Baumbach of Texas; brothers Lester Dean Roberts of Superior, Nebraska, William Roberts of Abilene, Kansas, and Marion Roberts of Michigan; one sister Caroline Fair of Salina, Kansas; step-sister Mary Ann and step-brother Robert Maple; 22 grandchildren, Steve, Chrystal, Jonathan, and Ezra Baumbach, Lynette Marshall, Rick Lackie, Ken Baumbach, Mitchell, Randy, Devonne and Laura Jones, Debra, Connie, Bryan Hartman, Troy and Gary Linton, Donald Moore, Lucas, Bonnie and McKenna Baumbach, Adam and Alex Baumbach, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Jocelyn Tupper officiating.
Music was "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Beyond the Sunset," with Mercedes McClure as the soloist and Carlita Price as organist.
Visitation was held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers were Adam Baumbach, Alex Baumbach, Lucas Baumbach, Donald Moore, Donald Shellhase and Oscar Rodriguez.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to the family.
