Christian Biography of Eugene E. Buresh

Eugene Ernest Buresh, the son of Ernest and Merna (Cassell) Buresh, was born on May 23, 1942 in Davenport, Nebraska. He passed away on June 24, 2019 at his home in Great Bend, Kansas at the age of 77 years, 1 month, 1 day.

Eugene was one of three children. He grew up on a farm near Davenport and graduated from Nelson High School. Gene grew up enjoying basketball and football. Gene later joined the Navy and served 4 years from November 1963 to November 1967. Gene was united in marriage to Janice Bodtke and to this union he was blessed with 4 children Trudy, Tammy, Troy and Trisha. They resided in Deshler, Ne. They later divorced. He was self-employed with Genes Radio and TV in Hebron, Ne for 20 years and worked 25 years in housekeeping. He was a member of St Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler, Ne and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend, KS.

Eugene married Sharon Turner on August 17, 2001. They lived in Nelson, Ne and present Great Bend, Kansas. He enjoyed the ham radio and connecting with people from all over the world. He loved his family and his two dogs Daisy and Duke. He was a Christian, loved God and knew God Loved Him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of Great Bend, Kansas; children Trudy Hatten of Janssen, Ne, Tammy Baden and significant other Ray Kendall from Hebron, NE. Troy Buresh and significant other Shannon from Lincoln, Ne and Trisha Buresh from Great Bend, Ks. Step children Todd Turner and significant other Misty of Great Bend, Ks, Christy Turner and significant other Adrian from Great Bend, Ks, and Dustin Turner of Great Bend, Ks. grandchildren: Kiah Husted and Husband Aaron, Scylar Roop, Keith Turner, Kendryk Turner, Shelby Fields, Jamie Turner, Trinity Kendall and Emma Kendall; great granddaughter Ava Husted; brother Daniel and wife Tammy Buresh from Chester, NE, sister Patricia Buresh-Ruttman and husband Harold from Nelson, NE other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services with Military Honors was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:30 pm from the Salem Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Ethan Feistner officiating.

Music was "How Great Thou Art," by Home Free, "Peace In The Valley" by Elvis, "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns and congregational hymn "Amazing Grace" with Lorraine Smith as the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Daniel Buresh, Troy Buresh, Dustin Turner, Todd Turner, Scylar Roop, Brent Ruttman, Ray Kendall, Aaron Husted, Brenton Bauer, Jaden Buresh, Keith Turner and Kendryk Turner.
