Christian Biography of Eugene K. Hanson
Eugene K. Hanson, the son of Chris and Addie (Hart) Hanson, was born on February 14, 1917 on a farm near Randall, Kansas. He passed away on March 1, 2014 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 97 years and 15 days.
Eugene attended country school near Randall, Kansas. He was a member of the Union Church at Hardy, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Elva Bottorf on March 10th, 1940 and to this union 4 children were born. He lived most all of his life in Jewell County Kansas and the south Hardy area, farming and raising livestock. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, square dancing in his earlier years, playing cards and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elva, two brothers, Chester and Arthur and a son-in-law, Rodney Warren and great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Paredes.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Warren of Superior, Nebraska, Lois Sullivan and husband Joe of Superior, Nebraska, Billie Groth and husband Larry of Russell, Kansas and one son Darrell Hanson and wife Judy of Hardy, Nebraska. 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Rachel Lauritzen of Scandia, Kansas and a brother, Raymond Hanson and wife Freda of Schuler, Nebraska along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 4, 2104 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor David Johnson officiating.
Music was "Wind beneath My Wings" with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and a recording of "Stroll Over Heaven". Carlita Price was organist.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Dennis Lauritzen, Richie Chermak, Chris Groth, Craig Warren, Kyle Kathrineberg and Jeff Field
Interment was in the Rosemound Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to the Rosemound Cemetery.
