Christian Biography of Fern Shellhase

Fern Shellhase, the daughter of Glenn and Lizzie (Rhoads) Kleckner, was born on July 13, 1925 on the family farm in Jewell County, south of Hardy, Nebraska. She passed away on May 17, 2016 at the Tabitha Good House at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 10 months, 4 days.

Fern was a graduate of the Incarnate Word University of San Antonio, Texas; she attended the University of Maryland and received her Master's Degree from the University of Alabama. She was employed at the Alabama Department of Mental Health, retiring as a Statistician.

Fern was united in marriage to Leslie Shellhase on June 6, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska and to this union 2 sons were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leslie on April 22, 2001; and a grandson Clayton Anthony Shellhase.

Survivors are her sons Jeremy and wife Amy ofMcKinleyville, Califonia and Joel and wife Laura of Boston, Massechusets; her sister Hilma Bidler and husband William of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor David Johnson officiating.

Music provided by Rick Brandt as the soloist and Carlita Price as the organist.

Visitation: Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time.

Pallbearers: Jeremy C. Shellhase, Joel K. Shellhase, Larry Semler, Ken Semler, Rick Brandt, and Larry Hromek.

Interment: Rosemound Cemetery rural Hardy, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Bat Conservancy International, the Defenders of Wildlife and the Nature Conservancy.
