Christian Biography of Frederick Franklin Huffman

Frederick Franklin Huffman, the son of Everett and Nellie (Shaw) Huffman, was born March, 1922 in Lusk, Wyoming. He passed away on March 9, 2016 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 93, just short of his 94th birthday.

Fred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Superior since 1932. He was inducted into the United States Army on October 21, 1942 and was honorably discharged on November 26, 1945 serving as Corporal during WWII. While in the service he was united in marriage to Dorothea Evelyn Fitzgerald on June 6, 1943 in Superior, Nebraska; and to this union two daughters were born.

He was past president of the Nebraska Rock and Gem Association. He also played an active role in his church for many years. He and Evelyn liked to fish and travel, spending a few years camping and then RV'ing. They also spent winters in Harlingen, TX prior to Evelyn's health problems.

Fred was a care giver to his wife, for many years, until they both entered the Good Samaritan Society in Superior.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother William Huffman and sisters Florence Saxe and Mildred Kline.

He is survived by his wife Dorothea Evelyn of Superior, Nebraska; daughters Dee A. Baird and husband Galen J. of Green Valley, Arizona and Lin K. Wichman and husband Larry of Lincoln, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at11:00 AM from the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Nebraska with Missie Wilt officiating.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
