Christian Biography of Gail Wendover
Gail Christine Wendover, the daughter of Wilbur and Virginia (Davis) Newhall, was born on September 4, 1949 in Edmonds, Washington. She passed away on March 6, 2014 at her home in Chester, Nebraska, at the age of 64 years, 6 months, 2 days.
Gail graduated from Bellingham High School in Bellingham, Washington and attended Tech school upon graduation.
She was united in marriage to Bill "Bear" Wendover on August 16, 1973 at Rock Springs, Wyoming and to this union two daughters were born.
She was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries all in Superior, Nebraska. Gail was a waitress at Foote's Café in Chester, Nebraska. She loved her cats, cared so much for Chester and the people there. Gail never complained about her job and thoroughly enjoyed her coffee patrons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bear on August 4, 2007; and step mother Phyllis Newhall.
She is survived by her daughters Virginia Diane Patricia Dorf and husband Melvin of Burchard, Nebraska and Elizabeth Renee Christine Habel and husband Dan of Waverly, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Joshua, Mason and Phynix Habel; brother Richard Newhall of Seattle, Washington, sister Winona Speigel Halter of Milford, Connecticut, step-brother Jeff Woodward of Seattle, Washington, and step-sister Nancy Beardsley of Rock Springs, Wyoming; other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating.
Music was "The Old Rugged Cross," and "In the Garden," solo by Heath Hoge with Carlita Price as the organist.
Book signing was held on Monday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Honorary Pallbearers were Daniel Habel, Ronnie Mumm, Melvin Dorf, Doyall Hartley, Everett Roop, Jean Thompson, Elmer Holmes, and Don Breland.
Inurnment was in the Hardy Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to the family.
