Christian Biography of Galen Kent Payton
Galen, age 55, died September 21, 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Galen was a gentle soul who loved life, the outdoors, mountains, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory includes his wife Patricia, his son Zeth (Amanda) Payton, stepson Thomas Eagle, all of Superior, Nebraska; daughter, Jamie Selmi of Nevada; parents Harold (Sharon Hiett) of York, Nebraska; Lila Payton of Encampment, Wyoming.
Siblings include brother, Tony (Linda) Hiett of Bradshaw, Nebraska; sisters Jane Boykin of Encampment, Wyoming; Kim (Kevin) Stephens, Deb (Mike) Hinz, Chris (Kevin) Cobb all of York, Cyndi (Jim) Blundell of Benedict, Nebraska.
Grandchildren: Haylee, Shelby, Morgan and Easton Payton all of Superior.
Nieces and Nephews include: Payton, Emma, Lila, Harold, Gale, Nina and Harrison Jackson, Matt, Josh and Sarah Stephens, Lindsay Heiden, Steven and Taylor Hinz, Tim Blundell, Shanon Koranda, Ashley, Logan, Brianna, and Tory Cobb, Hannah and Anthony (TJ) Hiett.
Brothers-in-law, Butch Dunn and Jimmy Dunn and Sisters-in-law, Zetta Powell and Wendy Granado. Aunts Jan Thompson and Ethel Payton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carla, son Galen Curtis, Father Gale Payton, sister-in-law Lynn Waterson, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:30 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating.
Recorded music was "Go Rest High On That Mountain," "Highway Man," and "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys."
Graveside Services and Burial were held on Monday, September 28th at 11:00 AM in the Mountain View Cemetery, Encampment, Wyoming.
Memorials directed to the family for later designation.
