Christian Biography of William Eugene Miller
William Eugene "Gene" Miller, the son of Levi and Josephine G. (Kimminau) Miller, was born on September 21, 1934 at Mt. Clair, Nebraska. He passed away on February 17, 2016 at the Kingswood Court where he resided in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years.
Gene was one of 10 children. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen's. He attended rural school at St. Stephen's, Lawrence, Nebraska. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church for 68 years, and after moving to Superior in 2002 became a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Gene farmed his entire life. He loved farming, raising cattle and hogs and gardening. He always had a smile on his face for any one he would meet.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Vincent, brothers-in-law William Rowley and Glen Hulet, nephews, Joe Miller, Edward Francis Miller, Greg Lohaus and Chuck Flagsted and great-nephew Jeff Miller.
Survivors include his sisters, Bernice E. Miller, Rita M. Miller and Rosemary Rowley all of Superior, Nebraska, Betty L. Mazour and husband Jerome of Nelson, Nebraska, Margaret A. Hulet of Whitehall, Michigan, and brothers, Alfred J. and wife Agnes and Wilfred H. and wife Helen all of Superior, Nebraska, Bernard J. and wife Joan of Shickley, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Superior, Nebraska with Father Brad Zitek officiating. Lector was Arnold Miller, Acolyte was Ron Rempe and Altar Servers were Ben Price and Jaden Hanson.
Music was provided by Gene's nieces and nephews.
Rosary Service was held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 7:30 PM at Megrue-Price Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jerry Miller, Mike Miller, Jim Miller, Don Mazour, Mark Hulet and Tony Rowley. Honorary Pallbearers were Gene's nieces and nephews.
Interment was at 2:30 PM in the St. Stephen's Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given for Masses.
Megrue Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
