Christian Biography of George E Piper
George Edward Piper, the son of Herbert and Corinne (Klaus) Piper, was born on April 11, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away on September 23, 2020 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 5 months, 12 days.
George graduated from Highland, Illinois high school. He enlisted with the United States Army on February 9, 1967 and was honorably discharged on February 3, 1970 serving during the Korean War. He married Luanne Hill on June 13, 1969 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The union was blessed with 4 children. They made their home in Hardy raising their family. George was employed at Agrex for many years.
George loved his family and friends and enjoyed most the time he spent with them. He was a member of the Superior Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellows, American Legion, VFW, Elks and the Hardy Cemetery Board. He enjoyed NASCAR, sports, gardening (especially flowers) and baking; he was the family cookie and candy maker for the Christmas holiday.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Luanne on March 7, 2020; and his brother John.
Survivors include his children, Ken Goodall and wife Susan of Hardy; Phillip Goodall and wife Nonda of Sutton; Michelle Boatman and husband Alan of Wamego, Kansas; and Rudie Piper and fiancé Ashley Foster of Laramie, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren: Savannah Goodall and fiancé Dalton Penny, Shiloh Sunday and husband Jacob, Shaelynn Goodall and fiancé Tage Rothchild; Andrew Wortman and wife Jenny; Ahsha Williams and husband Cole; Cameron, Colin, Chase and Conner Boatman and Zachary Piper; 3 great grandchildren: Bently and Macie Wortman and Wayde Williams; niece Darlene (Piper) Kincaid; his brother and sisters-in-law: Rudie Hill of Hastings; Jean Gray of Fairbury; Robin Gallagher and husband Jim of Hudson, Ohio; Jaine Troxel and husband Kendall of Fairbury; Paula Douglas of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Lindee Hill of Fairbury; other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial graveside service with Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardy Cemetery in Hardy, Nebraska with Pastor David Johnson officiating.
