Georgie's Obituary

Georgie Chapman went home to Jesus on June 24, 2026, with her daughter, Kim Parnell and son-in-law Rod Parnell present, and the hospital chaplain praying over her at Bryan West Hospice Unit in Lincoln.

Georgie was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Atha McDaniel of Colorado Springs; husband Ward Chapman of Nelson; son David Chapman; sister Pat Nettie of Colorado, and nephew Matt Nettie.

Surviving Georgie are her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Rod Parnell of Panama; grandchildren Jake Parnell, wife Ellen, and children Kyleena and Connor Parnell of Weeping Water; Zach Parnell and Lashalle Hughes-Hardt and children Brian, Ryleigh and Natalie of Wilber; and Samantha Yusten, husband Gavin, and two children Watson and Maizy Yusten of Panama; and Georgie's dog Daisy.  Also surviving family members are Bruce and Rose Marie Chapman, Brenda Lynch, and many nieces and nephews and in Arizona, Nebraska and Colorado.

Georgie lived her last two years at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, playing cards, dominoes, and bingo, and enjoying all the other activities there.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held at the Panama Community Center on Sat., Aug 1 from 2 to 4; and a graveside service on Sat., Aug 8 at 11:00 am followed by a lunch given by the ladies of the United Church of Christ in Nelson.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the People's City Mission in Lincoln.
