Christian Biography of Gregg Johnston Roe

Gregg Johnston Roe, the son of Gary and Velda (Lee) Roe, was born on April 15, 1964 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He passed away on December 2, 2013 at Good Samaritan Health Systems, Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 49 years, 7 months, 17 days.

Gregg was baptized in September of 1964 in Weeping Water, Nebraska and confirmed in 1976 in Superior, Nebraska by Pastor Marion Knoell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Superior. He graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1982. He also attended South East Community College in Milford earning a diploma in Automotive Technology and Central Community Colleges in Hastings earning his Associate of Arts Degree in Information Technology.

Gregg was a proud father to all three of his children, Garett, Kara and Breanna, they were always first in his life. He over came many battles by having a positive outlook on life along with the support of family and friends. His smile would light up the room whenever he entered it, and he was known for his big hugs and a creative sense of humor. He had an enthusiastic love for life.

Gregg loved to go fishing, even if he didn't catch anything; it was still a good day. He enjoyed using his computer as a way of keeping in touch with his distant family and friends. He was the family mechanic and had an innovative talent being able to tell what was wrong with a vehicle just by listening to it run.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother Grant.

He is survived by his parents Gary and Velda; his children, Garett of Kearney, Nebraska; Kara and Breanna both of Hastings, Nebraska and their mother, Barbara Roe of Hastings, Nebraska; and sister Joni of Superior, Nebraska; and very close friend Marcia Brooks of Holstein, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastors Mark Diehl and Jocelyn Tupper officiating.

Recorded music was "Beth", "Just Fishin'", "My Little Girl" and "Lord of the Dance."

Book signing was held on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Honorary Pallbearers were Dave Aksamit, Sid Drapal, Lonnie Miner, George Scott III, John Roe and Josh Craig.

A memorial will be placed at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska
