Christian Biography of Gwendolyn Arlene Williams
Gwendolyn Williams, the daughter of Dallas Lore Montgomery and Twila Elizabeth Rowley Montgomery was born August 10, 1927 at Ft. Collins, Colorado. She passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 27 days. The family moved to Superior, Nebraska later on where Gwen went through high school in Superior and graduated on May 8, 1944.
Gwen met Elmer Junior Williams and they were united in marriage on September 1, 1946, and to this union three children were born, Jerry, Bob and Linda. She lived on the farm near Nora, Nebraska until 2012 until health issues caused her to move to Wildridge Estates in Superior. Gwen had different jobs during her lifetime; delivering meals to the field daily during the planting and harvest seasons, she also worked at JC Penney, Nora Co-op and Farmers and Merchants Bank in Superior.
Gwen loved her family and grandchildren; she also loved visiting with her friends and relatives. One of her favorite pastimes was taking shopping trips with Linda and finding treasures along the way. She loved the times when we were all together as a family, eating at her table on the holidays. Gwen was a member of First Christian Church in Nelson, Nebraska for several years. She loved her Lord and Savior. The last few months of her life were spent at the Good Samaritan Home in Superior
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Twila Montgomery; her husband, Elmer Junior Williams; her sister, Phyllis Martin and a daughter in law, Marcelle Williams. She leaves behind her son, Jerry Williams of Cascade, Iowa; son Robert Williams and his wife Margo of Nora, Nebraska; and a daughter, Linda Combs and her husband John of Superior, Nebraska; grandchildren, Chad Graham of Surprise, Arizona; Lacey Sorrentino and her husband Claudio of Boca Raton, Florida; Scott Williams and his wife Jill of Kearney, Nebraska; Steve and his wife Haley of Hebron, Nebraska; Blake Williams and his wife Beck of Dyersville, Iowa; and Sonya Miller and her husband Rustin of Iowa City, Iowa; along with a host of many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and special friends.Tuesday
