Harold Dean Francis passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 12, 2017 at the age of 92 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior Nebraska.  He had resided at the center since July 2016.

Harold was born on April 19, 1925 to Claron and Anna Francis in Burr Oak, Kansas.

Harold enlisted in the Navy and served as a radar man on an LCI transporter in the Pacific during World
War II from August 1943 to March 1946.  Upon returning from the Navy he renewed his friendship with Edythe Silsby and they married in September 1946.  They celebrated their 71st anniversary in September 2017.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Alice (Jim) Perdue and Ruth (Bill) Bon.  He is survived by his wife, Edythe, his four children Sheri, Jeanette, Patty, and Bob, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Harold and Edythe Francis will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, Kansas with Missie Wilt officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Burr Oak Community Center at 12:00 PM.
