Helen F Knollman was born May 14, 1949, to Lloyd Pletcher & Dorothy Day. She had a sister Connie Sebastian. They lived on a farm north of Portis, KS. She had two kids, Tracy Braudis and John Anderson. She had three grandchildren Davis Lenz, Brandon Anderson, and Todd Anderson. She married Thomas Knollman on September 6, 1992. Helen was a data programmer working for some big named companies as a contract consultant. Writing different programs they needed.
Helen was a simple lady, never flashy. She never owned a new car or flashy clothes but was practical and made what she had last. She loved her family and friends. She was strong-willed, independent, and compassionate. She loved her gardening. Preparing months in advance, laying out, prepping the soil, growing her plants from seed. She often left her extras at the local post office for others to share. She loved caring for and looking after her animals. She traveled around in her life living in Arizona, California, Kansas City, Denver, Parker, CO and Elizabeth, CO finally coming back to Portis, KS where she remained.
She was a very compassionate lady with strong faith. She could quote scripture off the top of her head. She attended Grace Brethren church in Portis, KS as a child where she was baptized. Later became a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Downs, KS. She regularly did the rosary in the morning before the service. Even in her last days looking past her pain rejoicing in her going home to her heavenly father. Helen Knollman passed away on March 17, 2026, in Parkview Care Center in Osborne, KS.
