Christian Biography of Ira "Babe" Adams
Ira Vayden Adams, the son of Ira and Beulah (Johnson) Adams, was born on January 23, 1919 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on January 13, 2014 at Superior Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 11 months, 21 days.
"Babe" as everyone knew him, graduated from the Nelson High School in Nelson, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. During his lifetime he lived in the communities of Nelson, Dayton, Ohio, Morgan City, Louisiana, Williamsburg, Virginia and West Virginia representing the Maxon Construction Company.
Babe was an avid sportsman who played and enjoyed golf, baseball and bowling. In high school he also played football and has always been an avid Husker fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Ray Dean Adams of Wichita, Kansas; niece, Jennifer Adams Agnoli and husband Jeff of Columbus, Ohio; nephew, Steven Adams and wife LeAnn of Wichita, Kansas; great nephews, Nate and Samuel Agnoli of Columbus, Ohio; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home in Nelson, Nebraska with Missie Wilt officiating.
Recorded music was "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden."
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
