Christian Biography of Ivalee M Jacobitz

Ivalee Mae Jacobitz, the daughter of Chester and Gladys (Palmer) Webber, was born on November 4, 1930 in Bostwick, Nebraska. She passed away on January 8, 2025 at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 2 months, 4 days.

Ivalee was one of three children, she attended country school near Bostwick until fourth grade when she moved with her family to Superior where she finished her school years graduating from Superior High School class of 1948.  After graduating she attended Lincoln School of Commerce for 9 months and worked for one year at Lincoln Equipment Company. Ventured to Memphis, TN for a short while, returning to Superior in 1951 and worked for Bagley Business and Telephone Company.

She was a 50+ member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson, transferring to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Superior. She was baptized April 12, 1952 at St. Joseph's and confirmed October 14, 1954 at Sacred Heart. She was united in marriage to Ivan Jacobitz on January 2, 1954 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. This union was blessed with eight children.

Ivalee was a homemaker for her family. She kept busy with her gardening and flowers and her crafts projects. She was a member of Highland HH Club, Sacred Heart Altar Society, and Sweet Adeline's.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Gladys, husband Ivan on August 15, 2008, son Danny on December 31, 2013, grandson Danny Hartshorn, brother Oral Dean Webber, sister Alverta (Bob) Dudley, son-in-law Charlie Titus and nephews Tom and Larry Willett.

She is survived by her children Linda Hartshorn of Lincoln, Jeanette (Bruce) Wolfe of Fairfield, Vic Jacobitz of Nelson, Rose (Peter) Titus of Las Vegas, Bruce Jacobitz (Becky) of Nelson, Teresa Neal of Lincoln and Terre Jacobitz of Nelson; daughter-in-law Micki Jacobitz of Nelson, 15 grandchildren, Rebekah Hartshorn, Nick (Melissa) Jacobitz, Josh (Stephanie) Jacobitz, Markee (Matt) Kile, Jaycee (Ryan) Schroer Jared (Paige) Wolfe, Justin (Jenna) Wolfe, Michael and Jacob Jacobitz, Christian and Aaron Walker, Jackson and Jaymison Neal, and Evan and Emily Jacobitz; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Laura Webber of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday January 13, 2025, at 10:30 am from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Steven Major officiating and Gary Ostdiek as the lector.

Music was "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow," "The Lord's Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art," provided by Ivan Miller and Mary Statz.

Visitation was held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Pallbearers were Phil Wehrman, Gary Ostdiek, Doug Porter, Randy Porter, Bruce Jacobitz, Terre Jacobitz and Vic Jacobitz. Honorary Pallbearers were Ivalee's grandchildren.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Boys Town in care of the family.
