Christian Biography of Jack Clarence Young

Jack Young, the son of Clarence Chudomelka and Vergie (Young) Chudomelka was born July 23, 1935 at Scribner, Nebraska.  Jack passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 17 days.  Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was united in marriage to Lorraine on August 22, 1980 at Long Beach, CA.

Throughout his life, Jack was a self-taught hunting and fishing guide in California; he then owned a welding business in Los Angeles, CA and a construction business in Big Bear, CA, eventually arriving in Guide Rock, NE, where he owned and operated The Rock for over 28 years in addition to raising greyhounds.  Jack was a member of the NRA and BADD, (Bartenders Against Drunk Driving).

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lorraine Young of Guide Rock; son, William Young and his wife Susan of Fremont, NE; adopted daughter, Amy Hamburger and her husband Joseph of Guide Rock; and daughter, Robin Chudomelka-Simpson of Chicago, IL; grandsons, Zachary and Jeremy Young; niece, Cassandra Krause and her husband Richard of Puerto Rico, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Reppert.

A Celebration of Jack's life will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at The Rock, (230 A Street) in Guide Rock, beginning at 5:00 PM.  Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to Jack's family for future designation.
