Christian Biography of Jackie L. "Jake" White

Jackie Lee "Jake" White, the son of Lee and Mildred (Muller) White, was born on June 9, 1927 in Miller, Nebraska. He passed away on November 26, 2012 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 5 months, 17 days.

Jake graduated from Edgar High School. After High School, he enlisted with the United States Navy on January 16, 1945 and was honorably discharged on October 20, 1947.

On February 19, 1949 he was united in marriage to Gretchen Ileen DeHart at Fairbury, Nebraska and to this union a son and daughter was born.

Jake loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the VFW Post #3355, American Legion St. Mihel Post #103 and the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gretchen on November 14, 2008; and a granddaughter Adrian White.

He is survived by his son Mickey White of Superior, Nebraska and daughter Sandra Kramer and husband David of Buffalo, Missouri; grandchildren Brian Kramer and wife Joanna and Matt Kramer and wife Kay all of Buffalo, Missouri, Amy West and husband Brian of Traverse City, Michigan, Mark White of Superior, Nebraska, Amber Allen and husband Shane and Mickie White all of Omaha, Nebraska; ten great grandchildren; and one sister Norma Blevins of Grand Island, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.


Graveside memorial services with full military rites will be Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska.

All are invited to a lunch at the Nelson Community Center following the services.

Inurnment will be in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Nelson Cemetery.
