Obituary of Jacquelyn Ann Wehrman
Jacquelyn Ann Wehrman, daughter of Eiler Hans and Greta Mae (Waskom) Svendsen, was born on November 28, 1936, In Hardy, Nebraska. She passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 22 days.
Upon graduating from Nelson High School in 1954, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for one year.
On October 2, 1955, Jacquelyn married her high school sweetheart, Henry (Bud) Michael Wehrman, Jr. at the First Presbyterian Church in Nelson Nebraska. This union was blessed with two sons, Henry Philip and Von Jeffrey. Jackie was a dedicated wife and mother and she kept books for the family farm until October of 2021.
She was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska at the time of her death. Jackie was a past member of the Daughters of American Revolution in which she was a past State Regent and most recently presented with Honored State Regent, Eastern Star, and an original member of the Ruby H'Attitudes of Nelson. She also was a recipient as an Honorary Admiral of the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska. She was very patriotic and traced her genealogy back to President Andrew Jackson. It was not unusual for Jackie to be wearing red, white and blue jewelry.
Jacquelyn loved to travel especially to Estes Park. She loved spending time in England with her niece Robin and husband Ronnie. The Wehrman family enjoyed annual trips to the Nebraska State Fair when it was in Lincoln, Nebraska. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's school events. She also was a devoted Denver Bronco fan.
Jacquelyn was an avid reader and especially enjoyed history books and books about the royal family. Jackie considered herself a "rare bird" because of her love for the royal families especially the British Royal Family. Her favorite royal is Queen Elizabeth II. She kept several scrapbooks of the royal family, read hundreds of books/magazines regarding the royals and loved collecting memorabilia especially from the Queen's coronation. Jacquelyn mailed the Queen yearly birthday cards and several times she received a response from the private secretary to the Queen.
Proceeding her in death were her parents and her Uncle Stanley (Diz) Waskom. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, sons Henry Philip (Diane) and Von (Dawn) both of Nelson; grandchildren, Henry Nicholas, Victoria (Darin) Jolly, Jarrod (Sydney) Wehrman, Natasha (Colby)Frei; great grandchildren, Kade, Eli and Noah Jolly, Leni Wehrman; brother Edward (Dorothy) Svendsen, many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
