Christian Biography of James S. Copper

James Stanford Copper, the son of James Thomas and Hazel Ruth (Wingo) Copper, was born on January 6, 1949 in Goodland, Kansas. He passed away on July 23, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 6 months, 17 days.

Jim attended Cheylin Elementary and was a High School graduate. He was employed as a roofer/handyman throughout his lifetime. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 27, 1969 and discharged on June 17, 1970. He collected diecast cars, cigarette lighters and enjoyed wood working.

He lived in Bird City, Kansas; Goodland, Kansas; Burlington, Colorado; Sacramento, California; and Superior, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth; sister Mary (Jim) Hanna; brothers-in-law Fred Larson, LeRoy Beckner and Austin King.

He is survived by his sister Carol Larson of St. Francis, Kansas; Frances (Jim) Herren of Goodland, Kansas; Janice King of Burlington, Colorado; Sue (Lloyd) Sporing of Superior, Nebraska and Ruth (Earl) Studer of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, special friend Charith Owen of Superior, Nebraska along with a host of other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Cemetery in McDonald, Kansas with John Price, Jr., officiating.

Recorded music was "The Old Rugged Cross."

Pallbearers were Tony Studer, Jason Studer, Bill Sporing, Todd Sporing, John Larson, and Mike Beckner. Honorary Pallbearers were Chad Sporing and Jamie Peter.

Interment with Full Military Honors was in the Grace Cemetery at McDonald, Kansas.
