Christian Biography of James H Jensen

James Haldane Jensen, the son of Herbert and Mildred (Schlamann) Jensen, was born on November 30, 1950 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on May 16, 2024 at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 5 months, 16 days.  Jim donated his body to medical research.

James was born at Brodstone Hospital in Superior, baptized at Salem Lutheran Church, confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran in Hardy, and a faithful member at Salem Lutheran. He served on the church council for a number of years. James grew up around Hardy but lived most of his life in Nelson until he could no longer be alone and had to move to Parkview Haven in Deshler for his last year and a half.

James attended Boys State in 1968, and graduated from Hardy High School in 1969. He attended Western Technical School in Sidney graduating in 1976. As a young man at home, Jim broke horses.   He was a self-taught mechanic and he really enjoyed rebuilding a 1946 Fairchild airplane. Jim did a lot of flying as a crop duster and checking the gas pipeline with Larry Boardman. Jim has endured many "bumps" in his life.  Jim was a faithful visitor to individuals in Good Samaritan Home and shut-ins while he was able.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Mildred; brothers John Jensen in 2005, Jesse Jensen in 2010, and Jay Jensen in 2020; and nephew Christopher Karmazin in 2023.

Survivors include his siblings Jerry (Gail) Jensen of North Platte, Nebraska; Jolene (Steve) Palandri of Utica, Nebraska; Serita (Darold) Karmazin of Lincoln, Nebraska; and sisters-in-law Merideth Jensen of Clay Center, Nebraska; Carolyn Jensen of Superior, Nebraska and Linda Jensen of Chester, Nebraska; nephews Darren (Melanie) Jensen, Jason (Melissa) Jensen, Michael Jensen, Kevin (Karen) Jensen, Joel (Sandi) Jensen, Justin (Kelli) Jensen, Matthew Karmazin, and Garrett (Skye) Karmazin; nieces Sarah (Rich) Hunt, Jenilee (Jordan) Harms, Aylin(Chris's wife) Karmazin,  Korynn Smith and Holly (Zach) Keil; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life Service held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, Nebraska, with Ethan Feistner officiating.

Music will be "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "How Great Thou Art," and "I Was There," with Sonia Schmidt as the organist.

Memorials are suggested to go to Salem Lutheran Church.
